Heritage Hotels - discounted rates

Hi Everybody,

according to my German guide-book "Indien" (Stefan Loose) the Travel Corporation of India (TCI) in Frankfurt/Germany gives discounted rates (up to 60 % according to season) in some of the Heritage Hotels in India.

Up to now I have neither managed to find out their web-page nor their email adress. My faxes remained unanswered. A return call was promised, but never received.

Any experiences with TCI or infos available?

I've stayed at the Hotel Sunstar Heritage (Saraswati Marg, W.E.A, Karol Bagh, New Delhi-110005). I have no idea whether it is part of the Heritage Hotels.

60% discount!!!!! Never heard that the heritage hotels in India can offer this much disacount. These hotels will be more happy to keep their hotel empty than offering this much discount evenin in off season. The Karol Bagh hotel is definitely not Heritage as there is no heritage hotel in Karol Bagh.

Heritage hotel built in 2000. Can be possible as every person have different meaning for different things.

I suppose that the discounted rates only apply for very few, off the beaten track H-hotels and can be obtained by booking with TCI in Frankfurt/Germany only. Maybe there is a kind of small quota available.....

And I said up to 60 % (as maybe an exeption), so it could be 10 % only in most cases.......
Travellers from Europe might have booked with TCI in Frankfrut might know more.....
I would like to know WHICH Heritage-hotels in Rajasthan offer discounts in September (3rd-16th) and what would be the rate. Or do they offer something like a "weekend special" or reductions during the week?

If it's 60% off published rates, it's not impossible -- after all, most hotels (in India and abroad) have some sort of outrageously high "rack rate" that nobody ever pays.

50% discount was the Norm in Kausani during the off-season. These discounts keep the hotel open and chugging along in the low season!!

Whoa, that's a lot discount. I'd get a life time off season membership for all the hritage hotels...It is actually upon their discretion at what price they want to rent it out. pacify.

I traveled with this company few times. they are very good.
you can mail"malayanil@tci.co.in

you can wrute to him that i recommended them (roni golani from israel)
mr malayanil singh is the head office in delhi.
tci has branches in all the big cities in india. we got a wondeful treatment...

Roni, I have done that and written to Mr. Singh, mentioning your recommendation! But postmaster returned my mail ;-( ....

I have also put my request forward to TCI in Frankfurt directly and I am waiting for reply....
