What is your budget for both the cities? A wide range of rooms are there in every price bracket.

There are many budget hotel where you can get a room in 400-600 per night in jodhpur .. in jaisalmer stay in camp in sam dunes .. night stay is far romantic and awasome in camp ... negotiate with agent u will get a good deal within 1500 including (meal+stay+camal safari)..

Unless you give your budget range its difficult to advise you. Hotels in Jodhpur start with the Umaid Bhawan Palace and range right upto Shivam Paying Guest House @ INR 200/day.

Hi,

Itinerary - Assuming you reach on 30th Morning at Jodhpur

Day 1 -
See the Meherangarh Fort in the morning, opens at 0900 hrs. Dont hire a guide. Take the audio tour (about 150/-) which is amazing and very sufficient. Will take you about 2-3 hours. A short walk / drive away is the Jaswant Thada. Pop in for half an hour here.

Make sure you have Mirchibada, Pyaaz ki Kachori and Maave ki Kachori at Janata Sweets which is in the lane opposite Clock Tower. Ask anyone at Clock Tower and they will guide you there. Opposite the Clock Tower and within its walls, i forgot the name, but there is a place where you get the worlds best makhaniya lassi so dont miss this as well.

Not sure what else you can do here, Umed Bhawan is there but not much to see here as most of the place is off limits. Leave in the night train for Jaisalmer.

Day 2 -
Reach Jaisalmer @ 0500 hrs. Check in and hav breakfast. Go for the Fort, opens at 0900 hrs. Again the Audio Tour is available here. Will take about 2 - 3 hrs. But make sure that you can see a Jain temple within the fort which closes at 1200 hrs. So reach there before that time. vll take you about half hour max to see it.

From here, go straight for Patwon ki Haveli. Dont skip this one, its a must see. See the Nathmalji Ki Haveli (only viewed from the outside as inside is not allowed) and Salim Singh Ki Haveli (nothin there to be seen but nice to kill time here)

Just outside the fort, there is a small govt shop which sells govt auth Bhang, optionally mixed with "grass", try at least half a glass. Kill time walking across the city.

Day 3 -

Go to Bada Bagh and Lodurva. Shop in the Govt Auth Khadi Gramodyog shop (costly but authentic stuff). If time permits, you can also visit the Tazia Tower and Badal Palace.

Post lunch, leave for Khuri (heard that its only couple of hours drive only). Check in at Badal Singh's house. Go for the sunset camel ride. Have dinner. If possible, pay some money (about 100-200 per head) and go for one of the folk programmes in the night at one of the other tented resorts around.

Day 4 and 5 -

though there are other places like amar sagar etc, I am not really sure what you can do as there isnt much else to see or do, probably other indiamikers may be able to add to it.

FOR STAY-
JODHPUR -
There are a lot of hotels in Jodhpur, in the old city parts, where you will find good deals. Try SajiSanwri where they have rooms from 500 onwards , dependin on whether you want ac or non ac. And is a 20 min walk from the fort. Nice place. They have website - https://www.sajisanwri.com/index.htm

Honestly if u hav time then jus walk around the clock tower area and u vll find many places to put up.

JAISALMER -
Since I am a member of YHAI, i got to stay at Hotel Payal for really good discounted rates. However unlike Jodhpur, take an hour off and reach the fort directly. There are lots of places opposite the fort that you can stay for really cheap at. However let me tell you that since this is Oct, prices everywhere vll be more as its the season time for them.

KHURI -
I strongly recommend that you try and stay at Badal Singhs Guest House in Khuri. His name and number is somewhere on indiamike only...jus search it up. The amount of things and experience I've heard about him wants me to go back to Rajasthan again.

Have a nice trip!!! Let us know how it went.

Dear AK,

Almost every sweet shop sells Makhania Lassi in Jodhpur. I was referring to the Lassi at Janta Sweets, whereas he is refering to someother lassiwala.........
