Fatehpur Sikri to Jaipur

We are considering going from Agra to Fatehpur Sikri by bus (or taxi) and spending the night at the "Goverdhan Tourist Complex". Has anyone stayed there? This will be our first trip to India and I like the idea of getting out of Agra and into a smaller town.

Lonely Planet says there are "regular" buses (4.5 hrs) to Jaipur, but we could probably afford to hire a taxi. About how much might it cost? Would it take the same time as the train? Are there interesting places to stop between FS and Jaipur?

I'll appreciate any comments anyone might have. And may you all have a happy and peaceful 2006.

We got a taxi from Agra to Fatehpur Sikri for the day and it wasn't much. We actually got a bus from Agra to Bharatpur National Park stopped off there - well worth it - then a bus from there to Japiur.

We stayed at Kirin Guest House in Baratpur very nice owner he is a vet.
