|  Driver recommendations This is my first post. Am off to India in October and after making my own way to Udaipur, I am considering using a driver/taxi to go to Jodpur, Jaisalmer, and a few other places and ending up back in Jaipur - total time 7 days possibly (then off to Delhi and beyond). Does anyone have any recommendations for a driver from Udaipur? I will be travelling alone so this may be an expensive option, therefore am open to any other suggestions - am also considering train, car, whatever option as well. Thanks in anticipation. |

| Hi Shanti Sheila, I hired a driver in that area for a job I was doing back in Feb. The price will vary based on how much ground you plan to cover but should run you around 650-1000 rupees a day including fuel. I'd really only suggest you do it if you can pick a base (like Udaipur) to venture out from daily. Otherwise the expense will grow substantially--he'll probably ask a higher daily rate for being away from home for so long, plus you'll need to pay his board along the way. The other option would be to hire a driver a day based on where you are, but if you do this remember you'll need to pay his return trip if you have him take you on to your next destination. |

| 650 to 1000! ouch! we would have a jeep thing with driver (racking my brains for the name) with delux aircon for no more than 500 per day but would tip well after say 3 day drive...1000rps tip |
