There is no pre paid taxi counter in Jodhpur at Railway or Train station.

I ersonally wouldnt recommand to take a rickshaw from the train station or bus stand,instd walk a little away and catch up a moving one on the road , they are cheaper and usualy have no connections with hotels for comission etc and will take you to the place you are intersted in going to.

are there only rickshaws there? or are there taxis as well? a rickshaw wont have romm for us and our suitcases, will be arriving at 10 in the evening so i dont want to walk around, will there be a problem taking a norma taxi form there? I have already booked hotel taj hari mahal, will the taxi driver try to take us to another hotel then?

I would request you to have your hotel come and pick you up at this hour, it is offseason now and they will make it complimentry i think,there is a little taxi stand with four whellers outside the train station , once you walk out of the train station area , it is on your right on the road to the railway reservation office and the general post office.
In Jodhpur we have no Cycle rikchshaws.
No i do not think the rickshaw would try to take you to some other place if you are reserved with the Taj. No comission giving hotels are standards of the Taj.

A lot of hotels and guest houses provide free picking up service on their guest arrival in Jodhpur, You have got friends who live in Jodhpur, but i reside in Jodhpur since birth. Hotels like Umaid Bhawan, Ajit Bhawan, The Ummaid, Balsamand, these Fancy heritage hotels may charge some money for their services,I know of some Budget and Mid Range Hotels and Guest houses who provide free picking up service to save 50% on the room rent , instd of giving this money to the rickshaw drivers as comission, they provide picking up service to save this money.
