Desert homestay in the summer?
Desert homestay in the summer?
I'm trying to get to get in touch with Badal Singh about his home stay, based on numerous recommendations on this forum (thank you). I'm going to be in Jaisalmer in late May though. Is a homestay or even a night in a tent on the dunes advisable that time of year? I realize the whole time in Rajasthan is going to be super hot that time of year, and Im prepared to deal with it, I'm just wondering if a homestay will be especially gruelling or if it will in fact be pleasant since nights are cooler.

homestay is fine if you get aircon. Regarding tent stay, different people have different tolerance levels, see this wiki link for climate of Jaisalmer and the average minimum temperature: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaisalm...hy_and_climate
There are increased incidences of dust storms, dust devils as well in the summer months, so keep that in mind as well.
