I want to surprise my travelling mate with cooking classes in several cities (she's a foodie to say the least) can anyone suggest cooking classes (half-day would be ideal) in Delhi, Jaipur and Udaipur?
Many Thanks in Advance! |

the hotel Mahendra prakash in Udaipur organises cooking classes. Otherwise the one or other shop around Jagdish Tempel offers the same.

Some of the best food we ate in the whole of Rajasthan was in the Queen Cafe on the Hunaman Ghat side of Udaipur - its a tiny cafe run by the redoubtable Minu (sp?) and her formidable Mum there are 2 tables and the kids run around your feet but the food is incredible. Minu runs cooking classes as well and during the several visits we made to the cafe the cooking class clients seemed pretty happy - I think they're about 3 hours and cover an entire meal.
We did a cooking class at Apani Dhani in Nawalgarth (Shekhawati) if you are going there - it was very good! PS if you're a foodie do NOT miss Mumbai |

Cooking class in Jaipur
I took a month long class in Jaipur from a lady, shes from a royal lineage and taught me several rajasthani dishes like safed meat, red meat,dal-bati-choorma, and some delicious vegetarian cuisine...cauliflower in cashew sauce, indian meat balls, kababs, desserts, etc. I dont recall her number(I looked but lost it)but her email identity is cooking.class@yahoo.com. She didnt charge much-about $120 for a month but she has shorter courses.
A friend of mine took a class in Coimbatore and learnt south indian seafood-very spicy but yum, if anyones interested will mail details. |
