Bus Jaisalmer Jodhpur

Hello everybody
I'm actually planning a trip to Rajasthan.
I would like to know if some of you have ever taken the bus from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur.
If yes, how long does it takes? Are they several buses per day? How much does it cost?
Is the bus station near by the train station in Jodhpur?

There are lot of Private & Govt. run buses & journey takes about 5 hrs. Road is good.

There are buses leaving from the Rajasthan State Transport Bus Stand in Jaisalmer. You can call them to ask for the timings...Jaisalmer Bus Stand = 02992 25141 or Jodhpur Bus Stand 0291 2544223 / 2555533.

Opposite this is a pick up point for Private Buses as well. However I wuld suggest you to avoid these private buses and opt for the State Run ones. They wuld ask you to shell out more and stop at 'n' number of places before they reach the final destination.

A better option however wuld be that if you have things planned out, then I wuld rather suggest that you try the overnight trains, as they are more comfortable, safe and helps you reach much faster. There is a train which leaves in the evening as well. Check it out on www.irctc.co.in

Bottomline..try the trains first then the Govt run buses and then the Private ones if you have no other option.
