Bikaner for 4 Days

We're arriving in Bikaner at end of September for four days.
I'm trying to figure out what we'll do there for that many days.

Day 1:
Junagarh Fort
Bazaars around Kote Gate
Havelis on Rampuria Street and Purana Bazaar

Day 2:
Trip to Karni Mata (How much of our day will this take up? Should we go in AM or late PM?)

Day 3:
Camel safari with Camelman. Should we take the half-day or full-day trip? Remember, we are old men and not very sporty.

Day 4:
More time in Bikaner.... or excursion to Gajnar to go to the palace and park and then back to Bikaner?

Day 5:
Leave Bikaner at crack of dawn by car to Jaisalmer.
Is a visit to Kolayat easy?

Here are some other Bikaner things which we'll have to fit in around the other stuff:
Bhandeshwar Jain temple
Neminath Sandeshwar Jain temple
Lalgarh Palace
... Is that it? We can probably fit a lot of these things in on the Day 1, can't we?

Thanks

Hope you enjoy Bikaner as much as I did, lots of places of interest, and just enough off the major tourist trail to make visiting there a pleasure.

Karni Mata is only an hour or so out of town. I imagine it will be hot during the time you go, so I'd plan for an early morning visit.

Not too sporty? Hey, I saw people much younger than I with some pretty sore muscles after being up on the camels for only a few hours. Take the half day unless you are deeply motivated. A not to be missed experience though. If you're really into the camels, you can go to the Camel Farm outside of town, see how they are raised and learn more facts about them than you ever thought possible.

An excursion to Gajnar to go to the palace and park sounds very nice: although I can not give a first hand account of this place, others I spoke to liked the visit, and I believe they have a very nice restaurant there as well.

Recommend the Jain temples as well.

It will be very hot there this time of the year, it may be best to go for an late evening camel ride and watch the sun set. In the late evening there will be more activity in the small village where the camels are kept and you’re likely to see villagers herding their animals back home well into the night. If there’s a moon out I would recommend going out into the evening and coming back after dark. Ridding around the village on camels after dark could be interesting too.

I stayed at the Camelman’s guest house 14 days last time that I was there. Often during the day I would hop on a camel cart or ox cart to get around.
I had fun!!!!!!
