beautiful hamlet near jaipur

after going through various threads related with jaipur, i did not find any information related a tourist village by name SAMODE which is merely 42 km away jaipur. so i thought why dont information to be shared among all. though being a novice to this site and yet to understand the meaning of guru, mahaguru, moderator etc but hope very soon will be able to crack the puzzle.

Brief description

Samode is a small village nearly 42 km away from jaipur. this village is surrounded two sides by hills and rest two sides are open. one mammoth and magnificent palace is situated which is surrounded by hills. In initial era this palace was residence for royal family but for last ten years it has been converted to heritage hotel. This palace has two parts, one for accommodation purpose and second part is having beautiful architect work. Several halls comprising mirror and painting work which is quite fabulous and touching. I am sure that every one would like to see this artisan work second time. In my opinion this work is better than what exactly found in amber fort at jaipur.

At present this place is known as “hotel samode palace” having facility of five star. Usually flock of tourists from UK, USA, France, Canada, Germany ---- used to visit this place. Visit takes around one hour from jaipur, well connected from road. One famous hanuman temple situated on the hill itself but to reach this place you have to cross several hilly parts which will take one hour but this one hour visit will impart you a long lasting impressions in your mind. One royal garden hut residential place also is there but three km away from samode having facility of swimming pool also. samode area is also natural choice of numerous films star as shooting of numbers of movies has taken place. Eighty percent shooting of famous TV serial Tipu sultan had also taken place in the same area. Tourist will enjoy blend of hilly as well sands dunes here. Two days will be sufficient to enjoy this place.

Its better enjoyed when people book it in groups...its almost midle of nowhere...

I guess when you take the road from Shahpura, that connects NH-8 (Delhi Jaipur Highway) to Chomu, its on that road. There are huge walls surrounding it, and you cannot get an Idea of what exactly is happening there.

I had gone to Jaipur a number of times but never touched Samode.
Thanks nkkumawat for such a write up about the hamlet. I came to know that the samode palace has a wonderful Seesh Mahal. Is that correct?

indeed chomu is a town--and famous for fruits and vegis mandi except that nothing special about place. from chomu two major routes passes through-one goes to sikar(NH-8)and other goes to khetri and on the way of khetri samode is situated and also surronded by huge walls.

I guess you are confused...

NH-8 is Jaipur-Delhi Highway and Sikar is situated on Agra-Bikaner highway...and Agra-Bikaner Highway is the one on which you come across Chomu..

When coming from Delhi take a right from Shahpura, then insteadof going towards Sri Madho Pur, take the new toll road and head towards Chomu..

We had spent a full day at Samode - Samode Palace (Hotel), Samode Baug ( Resorts) and at one of the fresco artists' house last February. Unfortunately, I could not see Sheesh Mahal as that point of time, a full day Conference was in progress. In fact, the Palace Hotel staff was reluctant to allow us the entry to the Palace because of the conference. It was only when I told the Manager that we had come all the way from Mumbai to see the Palace, he allowed us inside the hotel with a Palace guide. As a quid pro quo, we took coffee in their restaurant which helped us to gain entry in Samode Baug. Entry to Samode Baug is restricted to those who stays either in Samode Palace Hotel or Samode Baug Resorts.

I will highly recommend those planning a visit to Jaipur to make a day's outing to Samode.

There are a few pictures taken by me at Samode in Members' galleries.
