Attention Udaipur Travelers
If anyone is/ will be in udaipur i need a favor. i need someone to take a few photos of Krishna Music in Lal Ghat. its a very small music. the address is 37 lal ghat.
to get there: when heading towards the city palace, turn right at The alley next to Jagdish Temple, go straight. there is a side road that splits and heads slightly uphill the the left. follow that side road for about 90 feet. Krishna Music is on the right side. also if you have trouble, ask anyone and they will point you in the right direction.
Krishna is a good friend of mine and will give you a great deal on indian instruments. i spent a lot of time with him and his family and learned to play the dholak from him. i am planning to help him sell a few instruments in america so i would like to have some photos of him and his store. so if you will be near, it would be great if you could snap a few shots of the outside of the store, and if your feeling really generous, go inside and get a few photos. tell him michael hays sent you and he will do anything for you. digitial pictures would be the best but i will take whatever i can get. i am willing to pay someone for the pictures if necessary. email me at michaelwhays@hotmail.com or call me 206.427.3765
also i have some of my photography at www.michaelhays.netfirms.com

Davey & Travelingbhat
I would like a small favour too, a complete list of all trains departing or arriving at Udaipur train station.
That probably sounds difficult, but if I'm right, there should be only two trains departing (431 & 9943) and two train arriving (432 & 9944). (daytime & overnight trains to/from Ahmedabad)
There are no train’s to/from Chittaurgarh, Ajmer, Jaipur & Delhi because of gauge conversion work that starts tomorrow and goes on for 3 months, but I can't get any info about the train’s to/from Marwar Junction (451, 452, 483 & 484), these trains use a small part of the line that is being converted.
I remember seeing a broad gauge line being built alongside the metre gauge line and wonder if that was to keep these trains running once the whole line has been converted (the line to Marwar is metre gauge).
Any info you could get would be very much appreciated; these trains to Marwar connect with trains to Jodhpur.
This may be pushing it too much, but, if you get a helpful booking clerk or station manager, ask him if he has any info about trains to/from Udaipur AFTER the gauge conversion work is finished. (just train numbers would do).

Trains to Udaipur
No problems, at least I hope not I'll try my hardest, I've got 5 days in Delhi where we are going to try to get up the stairs to the Tourist booking office and book our tickets from Delhi to Jaipur then later to Chandigarth on route to Udaipur. It should be a good exercise for us test out our readings and advice from the forum. I'll try to pass it on to you from the Hotel
6 nights to go then were off. packed 4 toilet rolls today (3ply) and my Don Bradman Cricket Jumper

Thanks Davey.
Just tell the touts at New Delhi that you're meeting a friend upstairs and that you're going home today and dont need a train ticket.
I hope you meant Chittaurgarh when you typed Chandigarth.

I got pictures of the outside anyway.
Picked up your message just before we left Udaipur--sorry but the store wasn't open yet so I couldn't get any of the inside. Hubby took several of the outside with his digital, but we won't be home until Feb. l5. Will do our best to send them on, but neither of us is terribly good at sending photos. We'll try hard
