4 days in Rajasthan

Hey guys,
need some expert help on planning my trip to Rajasthan

I'm from Pune; attending a wedding in Jodhpur on 27th Nov, so i plan to fly there from Mumbai.
I would be travelling with my wife.

From Jodhpur, following is my tentative schedule:

Jodhpur to Jaipur on 28th Nov, night stay in Jaipur
Jaipur to Agra on 29th Nov, night stay in Agra
Agra to Delhi and Delhi to Pune on 30th Nov

I need to go to Delhi since a direct flight is available to Pune

I would like to know what the travel gurus think of the above. Is it to harried for the time frame? I've put Agra since its in the vicinity of Jaipur (less than 300km)

If you are staying just for a night in Jaipur and not doing any sight-seeing, then why not go directly from Jodhpur to Agra? In the way you have planned, you would not have any time in Agra also. It will mean no sight-seeing in Agra also. You may travel between cities during the night instead of during the day.

Yes, it is a little tight journey. I'll refine it; need to check out travel options within Rajasthan, since i havent decided whether to hire a car or use railway. I'm a little apprehensive about road travel at night...

Rail travel, if you get reservations, is comfortable (personal view).

I agree with Ashwin. Jaisalmer is the most colourful town in the country. Try and walking the bylanes around the fort and its an amazing experience.

In fact you could also go for a night stay at either Sam or Khuri which is a much more worthwhile visit then just a single day at Jaipur or Agra.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for your advice

I've changed my iternary a bit though:

I'll be arriving in Jaipur, then proceed to attend wedding at Jodhpur and then Jaisalmer.

Where shouid i go from Jaisalmer to catch a flight back to Mumbai? Both Jaipur and Udaipur are quite far. I'm confused about this part

i guess you will have to come by train.there are many convinient trains from jodhpur to pune and mumbai. Still if you might find flights from jaipur as jaisalmer-jaipur is connected by a direct train.
