Quote:hey mate, do you have a wireless modem? i.e. WIFI modem that acts as a hot spot?? or do you have a smartphone which acts as a wifi hot spot? as you can buy prepaid celluar cards like in the states, T-mobile, AT&T i.e. you pay Rs100 rupees ($2usd) as an addon data pack and it gives you around 2gb-3gb of data, any phone shop in Punjab will be able to do that for you, can you be precise which city/town in punjab your visiting? as the major metro's ludhiana, patiala, jallandher, chandigarh, amritsar, moga, faridkot, etc they all have an internet cafe so trust me you won't be without the net.. India is a country where everyone has access to phones/internet and less access to the other basics necessities in life.. if you know what i mean..
One of the reliable wireless broadband services offered by the Tata group, its called TATA PHOTON PLUS, You could expect the download speed of around 150 KB/S and its covered by almost entire Punjab. Their charges are also nominal, just RS 1200 for 10GB data usage. I am personally using their services from last 1 year and am very much satisfied. I had disconnected my BSNL broadband connection and never looked back.
