car hire to shimla from ambala cantt. Junction railway station.... Need HELP!

I am planning my trip from Jammu to Shimla.
I found a train from Jammu to Ambala Cantt Junction.. a train that reaches ambala station at 4:50am ...
I was wondering if anyone could please inform me about the car/taxi service.
I want a non/Ac Indica from ambala station to shimla.. Please tell me.. how much would they charge me.. and that if I can find a taxi.. that early in the morning at ambala station.
Also suggest me on ways to get to shimla from ambala station at a cheaper rate.
please help as soon as possible.. I have only 2 weeks left in my travel dates.

Usually you will find lots of taxi/ private cab parked outside the Ambala Junction under the NH1 bridge. Ask someone and bargain , you should not feel any problem. as it will be an early morning time.

Second option what you can choose is Bus, in my openion that will be the best option. You will get bus to Shimla in every 15-20 minutes interval. If i am not wrong luxury / delux buses are also plying on the same route. So no need to worry about taxi

best thing to do would be go to chandigarh and approach punajb tourism or himachal tourism office.you will have lot of options from chandigarh to shimla once you are there. if you do not have the time to go to chandigarh find a reliable trvael agen in ambala to help you with taxi. please do not take a random taxi at the station.it might land you into trouble.

I am quite disagree with idea to go to Chandigarh first and then approach tourism offices .. just wastage of time.

Also looking for travel agent at early morning is not an easy task. In Ambala maximum taxies are personal not of any tourist agency (you will find private no plate on many of them)
This will make the things complecated though. Its better to approach 2-3 taxi guys directly and set up the fare.

State Transport(Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal) buses from Delhi-Shimla go via this route only, there are delux buses too. and their stop is bang opposite to the railway station.... no need to go to Bus stand either.

Non AC Indica from Ambala to Shimla should charge
approx Rs. 3000

there is this.. one more thing that am bothered about.. all 3 of us travelling are woman. Me, my mother and my sister.. would it be safe to hire these cabs outside ambala junction.. at that early hour of the morning??
And also inform if.. If its possible to get into these luxury/ deluxe AC buses that get to shimla from Delhi. Arent they suppossed to be all filled up??
Please help me with it buddy.
And.. also inform me on the time the bus/taxi 'll consume to reach shimla from ambala cantt.

I think it is pretty much safe, but sure every where in the world caution is required.
Here you have an option of bus also.

I used to travel this on this route some years back and you know bus drivers and conductors were makeing lots of efforts to get the passangers. I never seen a single bus completly filled up. And few months back I observed the same condition.

Somewhere 4-6 hrs.

how are they..?? are they hyped.. or something really worth watching??
also tell me.. if you know about its seating arrangements.. if its a 3 by 3 seating arrangement or something else..
