about to visit Punjab
about to visit
I am coming to India on a Rotary Group Study Exchange program and am, of course, concerned about the situation! We will be spending a month in the Punjab - is anyone out there in the area now and how are things?

Thanks for joining the forum.
As a American in India right now, I am presently in Manali, not to far away from Punjab and I have to say "you wouldn't notice anything out of the ordinary being here".
Only one person has even mentioned anything of the war and that was a taxi driver who said concerning the Taliban "there are some bad people in the world".
So since then not once have I had any indication that anything is unsafe and also there is a huge number of tourists enjoying India right now and it is just as orinidary as India gets.
