The itinerary should be planned as below Delhi - Chandigarh - Amritsar - Vaishno Devi - Jammu - Delhi - Shimla - Manali and back to Delhi before taking return flight to Bangalore. Have a great time buddy. |

Hi Venkat, It seems that they have only 8 days to travel and at 60+ they will be tired. Delhi Manali or Shimla is a 12-14 hour trip by bus. or overnight to kalka and then another 4 hours by train or 2 hours by road to shimla. Delhi Jammu and then Vaishnodevi is not possible in one day they will need atleast two days so that they are safe. They could travel - Delhi - amritsar - jammu - vaishnodevi- jammu - ambala -(ambala is closer shimla road should be 5-6 hours) - Shimla - Manali and then back to delhi The delhi - amritsar - jammu - ambala part can be done by train while the rest willhave to be road. Day 1 Delhi amritsar - Overnight train arrive in the morning) Day 2 Amritsar ( fullday) - Jammu ( overnight train arrive jammu in the morning proceed to vaishnu devi stay the night at katra.) Day 3 Return to jammu local temples - ambala ( overnight train arrive in the morning) Day 4 Ambala - Shimla Arrive shimla by Late afternoon Day 5 Shimla Local sightseeing Day 6 Shimla - Manali - bus arrival in Manlai Evening day 7 Manali Local sightseeing Day 8 Manali Local sightseeing Day 9 Manali local - leave by the eveing volvo bus to Delhi Day 10 Arrive Delhi Morning By 10 am Please see the itenery above the first half can be very tiring. March is hot in the north so they need to be careful as food spoils faster. It is advisable to eat where they see a lot of locals / travellers eating as this would usually mean that the food is fresher. Do they have any particular restrictions on their diet. They need to be sure to inform the waiter /cook before hand. Hope this is of help Mani |

hey pranav...
if u can make little changes that will make ur parents trip much lighter in travelling.. if your parents drop out kulu and manali and choose dalhousie and dharamshala that can low down the travelling then your parents can fly or come by shatabdi express from delhi to amritsar, stay here.. and then move from amritsar to jammu and vaishno devi.. come back to pathankot which is just 2 hours from jammu, and from pathankot move to dalhousie, which is hardly 2 hour drive in car... enjoy dalhousie.. come back again to pathankot and from there move to dharamshala and from dharamsala can go to chandigarh...and from chandigarh they can go back to delhi in shatabdi.. I go with planning of MANI. Only thing if possible is reservations- get them as soon as possible. Traveling by road will be too expensive.
