Quickest/safest way from Mumbai-Jalandhar (and back)

Hi there,

I am a female whoI will be in India in business and hoping to get to Jalandhar from Mumbai. I will be travelling on my own and am a bit concerned about the safest way to travel. I have been told I can fly, but cannot find any information on an airport in Jalandhar. Additionally, I have minimal time and would like to shorten travel time however possible. Money isn't so much an issue for the purpose of getting there and back to mumbai.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Jallandhar has no airport, the nearest one is at Amritsar at 90 KMs. away. From Amritsar you may hire a taxi.

There is no direct flight to Jalandhar. The quickest way would be to take a direct flight from Mumbai to Chandigarh and take a cab from Chandigarh. Jalandhar is about 134 km from Chandigarh.

PS: Amritsar is bit nearer but there is no direct flight from Mumbai to Amritsar.

You could take a flight to Chandigarh and then take a cab from there. Mumbai-Amritsar flights are infrequent and costlier. Also, try to prebook taxis with a reputed car rental co - avis, fabcars, carzonrent, angel cabs.
