Punjabi University Patiala
Hi everyone,
I´m going to study in Patiala from July till December. I´m going alone and it´s my first time in India. Does anybody from you live there? Or does anyone of you have any experiences with this University or with the city? I passed through several threads and I learned that most people found it a boring city. I want to know about people and life there whatever can whoever tell me. What is the city like? How about transport, I need to get from railway station to University campus... Look forward to your advices b. ![]() |

The university is on the main road that runs towards Rajpura and Chandigarh.
Its not such a boring place. Plenty of palaces, forts etc to see, but I guess it would take the average person only a few hours at each of these to see them all. Remember Himachal Pradesh and hill stations like Kasauli are not too far away if you want to escape Patiala, get a bus to Chandigarh and then head on towards Himachal. From Kasauli there is a bus that travels to Sangrur via Patiala at around midday. Should be easy to get from the Railway station to the Uni. Plenty of rickshaws etc near the railway station.
