hi
you can easily take 2 bags in shatabidi, since amritsar is the last stop so you can easily disembark there. dont worry

Sidharth, it's about 30 inches (2.5 foot) long, 34 inches wide & 12 inches high. Basically i need to know the size of the overhead racks as that's the only place I can keep the luggage. If they are 2 feet than I'm good as a 2.5 feet suitcase will only jut out by 6 inches. If they are only 1 foot in size, than it may be problem?

Am I making sense with the dimensions?

OK, let me try again...

The dimensions of the suitcase are 2.5 feet by 2.5 feet by 1 foot. I can place it on the overhead rack if the rack is about 2 feet or more. If it is less than that, the suitcase will not be stable and can fall.

Let me know a number to call you at, if it's OK.

Ajay

Get to the station early, be first on the train, then put the package behind the first seats as you enter the carriage, the first row of seats have a large space behind them.

The space is easily enough behind those seats.

I'll take back the above advice as I'm not 100% sure it is accurate (about 90%).

I was going from recent memory of a Jan Shatabdi train, and the normal Shatabdi trains have a slightly different layout, I'm still sure the Shatabdi has the space behing the first seats, but not 100% sure.
