somedays ago an indian friend of mine from Dubai was shocked that I want to go to Jhalandar. He said" it is a desert like dubai without the Dubai's Luxury" but I think he was just mumbling!!Cause as you said and I have heard from other people punjab is a very green estate!! isnt it? to be honest with you I prefer nature over the urban living! so I think I would be much happier in Jhalandar rather than in mumbai!

I live in and was born in England, we have farmland in haryana but my parents are punjabi. My mums family are from Jalandhar and my grandparents are also from Jalandhar district but moved to Gwalior (where my dad was born) before setling in Haryana. I think the person must have been joking, Jalandhar is far from a desert. Just look on google earth and you will notice the green farmland surrounding it on all sides. My maternal uncles are a 5 minute drive from Jalandhar and all the way to Jalandhar is farmland with the odd housing colony. Me, the wife and kids will be visiting Jalandhar for about a week in the last week of october. You are more than welcome to travel with us to Chandigarh, Himachal etc or meet up in Jalandhar. Will have an SUV so plenty of space. |
