Hotel in Amritsar: Le Golden or Mrs. Bhavari?

Hi,

I am going to Amritsar, and I am trying to find a hotel, which is QUIET (no noise/minimum noise at night). On the other side, I want to visit Golden Temple, sometimes early morning or late night.
I understand that Le Golden is very close to GT. Somewhere I read that this hotel is quiet at night. Is Le Golden quiet indeed (althout it is in the center of Amritsar)?
Mrs. Bhavari's guesthouse is apparently much further from GT, but is very quiet. From Mrs B, I will need to hire rikshaws to GT. Can one hire rikshaw at night, or early morning?
What is better?

Leo

Hi Leo

I stayed at Mrs B's Guesthouse and I can't say I would recommend it. It is out of town but by a busy road so not exactly quiet. It is very overpriced for what it is ( especially the food) and I had a rat in my bathroom! I think my friends stayed at Le Golden and said it was good but I'm not sure about that..

Amritsar

Hi Leo,
If you look at the thread "off the beaten track,Punjab",
you will see that there seems to be a problem finding
decent accomodation in Amritsar. Please post if you find
what you are seeking, we are looking for March 15th onwards
also.
Regards,
Martin.

I stayed overnight at Mrs Bhandaris in Dec just gone on my way to Mcleod & yes it was pricey Rs1000 & yes it's slightly out of town, but i loved it, the place as got character & i found it fairly peaceful despite the road (it was fairly quiet by Indian standards) However Dreamer i did stay in the old single storey bit not the modern block, how about you?
I feel slightly cheated though as i didn't get a rat in my bathroom
Guesthouse owner Guesthouse owner, there's a rat in my bathroom.
SHH be quiet or everyone will want one!
