HELP : Chandigarh airport to Kalka

Hello,

I would arrive to Chandigarh by air around 2 pm. I need to go to Kalka to catch the next morning's Kalka-SML toy train. What are the options to reach Kalka by airport? I am in no hurry to get to Kalka once I land. I would like to take a small tour of Rock garden etc. I guess it would be fine for me if I reach Kalka by 9 pm and scout for a hotel there to spend a night.

- Ideas about spending about 5-6 worthwhile hours in Chandigarh.
- Are there any cloak rooms in airport to dump the luggage (a strolley)

Hi

Chandigarh-Kalka is around 1.5hours max ! so there is no hurry as such ! you can take a bus from Chandigarh ISBT.
spending 5-6 hours in chandigarh...
- you should visit rock garden
- sukhna lake
- rose garden is also a beautiful place
- if you are interested in having a good meal / shopping.. you can visit Sector 17 or 35 markets !
i am not sure about cloak roam at chandigarh airport ... it is a very small airport .. you will need to check up once you land.

There is a superb clean dhaba/restaurant in Kalka. Its on the road opposite the railway station where most the hotels are. As you walk up the road it is on your right handside. The food is excellent, it has nice decor and prices are good.
