Good restuarants in Jullandhar

Hi,

As you may already know from other strands I have posted, I am taking my White/English husband to Indian for the first time in Feb/March 2006. We will be staying in Jullundhar with my parents for a week or so before we go of exploring. Can anyone tell me any good places to eat out both Indian and foreign food.

Thanks

hi,

i think Haveli on the GT Road is good for punjabi food.

for Western food, the restaurant at Raddison hotel in BMC chowk is good.

Plaza Hotel on Old Court Road (Purani Kacheri)(ask a Rickshaw walla for Friends Cinema) has good food at good prices. The restaraunt is near where the Dhaba is, you go upstairs (no need to go further down to the actual hotel). There is also another restaraunt near Friends Cinema.

Pizza Hut is virtually next to the Radisson. There is another place to eat next to the Radisson.

The Radisson has very good food, they do a good breakfast as well. If you fancy something different just ask the staff and they are very helpful.

Haveli is ok but the waiters have a habbit of trying to make you eat quickly by constantly hovering over you.

There is a new drive in McDonalds on the GT Road (it is not too far from Haveli but is on the opposite side of the GT Road).

There is a Subway in model town (540R Rainbow Road, Model Town Jullundhur)

Avoid the Dominos pizza place as I myself have experienced the most awful diahoreah after eating there (and so have a few of my friends). I would also avoid the Wimpy as the food is nothing special.

If you fancy eating at home then you can buy Heinze Baked Beans etc from many shops in Jullundhur or Metro Store in Phagwara.

wanna like to have a PIZZA only visit MANBRO's departmental store, yes!! they do serve eatables, i suppose its the best place for pizzas in city since 1995, the year i started visiting them. and the price is all very reasonable.

for desi indian food lots of dhabas from vijay to ahuja all tht.

rest i suppose buffet at Maya is best and Ice cream at PNB chownk, i dont remember the name though, is really good

As sherry said at haveli waiters have a habbit of trying to make you eat quickly but i suppose do go to Rangla Punjab, besides haveli, its best on saturday night.

yes Prithvi palace is also good place for games(bollwing and video) and light snacks.

wht else aaaaaaa...... puris are best in one of the oldest shop in old bazar , i dont remember the name , they also serve lassi.

thats it.

There is HAVELI and MACDONALD's - both are on Jalandhar Phagwara road and opposite to each other. Although 3/4 kms outside city but worth a visit.

There are many places inside city which you can try: WIMPY,Hotel President,Hotel Kamal are few to name.
