Golden Temple + luggage

Hi there,

I'm soon to embark on my second trip to India

. One of my first destinations is the Golden Temple in Amritsar. I'll only be there for the day, so will have my large backpack with me.

When visiting the temple, will I be able to carry this with me? If not, is there a safe place to leave it?

Golden temple has notorious reputation for its pick pockets. be careful about your luggage.i guess luggage might be safe but you should not keep anything valuable in luggage trusting the guys.check the luggage after you get it back from bag counter if you deposit the bag.

As an update to this since visiting the temple a few days ago...

I left my luggage (one large back pack that was locked) in the luggage storage by the entrance to the temple without a problem.

there will no problem of luggage as there store at entrance(in punjabi it is known as "gathri ghar")
it will b safe there they will give u token for ur luggage. take ur cameras mobile passport n cash with u if u wish although its safe but beware of pickpocketers
have a nice stay in india
