I've just found out that I'll be living in Faridabad and not Delhi. I hope that doesn't change my plans too much!
I can't find any info on Faridabad so I'm going to ask for some help ![]() |

Faridabad is a suburb, as of now have not heard of expats living or working there. Primarily a manufacturing hub. but loads of middle class Indians too.

About 30km from central Delhi. Mainly into manufacturing, has recently been in the spotlight as apartment construction picks up.
Living there, I would expect you to be dependent on Delhi more than if you were living in Gurgaon or Noida- it is not as developed as those two yet. |

Faridabad - developing
I am from faridabad so can give u more details... primary focus is on manufactoring... the local transport is almost not there except for the rickshaws & auto .. auto's are genrally shared.. less crowded than delhi hence the noise levels are low... rents & land prices are still low as compared to delhi, gurgaon.. has easy access to delhi, noida as well as gurgaon... 6-7 malls are presently operational, so no dearth of movie tickets as each mall has a multiplex.. however for nightlife faridabad depends on gurgaon/ delhi... no good pub to boast of but a couple of bars which are also not of very high standard...but faridabad does boast of a good golf club... let me know incase u need further info...

Like Shanks said Faridabad is a bit of a manufacturing hub and your dependence on Delhi would be quite high. Its grown substantially over the last few years and one sees a lot of ad's for luxury apartment's etc now at pretty cheap prices so accomodation should not be a problem, infact you might be able to pick up a very nice place.
I dont know what you can do there do. It does not come close to Delhi or even Gurgaon with respect to having a nightlife and is more often than not, in the papers for the wrong reason..
