Get a relative to pick you up in a hired car.

Just returned from Moga

We hired a taxi driver for R1,200 per day and kept him with us for 14 days, we paid for patrol and rest.

Get a relative to get you on hired taxi is GOOD ADVICE.
Still you wanna come ...please note carefully !

1. DO NOT TRAVEL ALONE IN NIGHT.
2. THERE ARE INDO-CANADAIN bus service available from Delhi.
3. You can also travel by train upto Ludhiana & then you can take bus for Moga

Sounds about right for a large vehicle.

A small Indica type car can be got on a similar basis for RS600 a day in Punjab. Sumos 700 to 800 RS a day. Scorpio, Safari etc for 1000+ RS a day.

Before we bought our Scorpio we used to hire on this basis. We used to pay for the fuel and the drivers food.

One thing I will reiterate please check the state of the tyres before you hire a vehicle. To cut costs some people use very dodgy remoulds (literally glued and stapled over the old tyre). Also make sure the driver has a spare, a jack and a wheel nut wrench. Test the AC before you hire and make sure it works. Some drivers tell you the car has AC but it doe snot work. The first you will know of this is when you have hired the car and are need the AC on. The driver will swear on his life that it was working earlier in the day and must have just broke.
