Exclamation Chandigarh to Kasauli or Parwanoo

Whats the best way to get to Kasauli or Parwanoo from Chandigarh? Since i'm on a budget, I'd prefer a bus, but I couldnt find any info abt one to either of these places from Chandigarh.
Can anyone suggest the best(and cheapest )way to get to either of these places from chandigarh?how long do these take?
Also, would anyone know if Parwanoo is worth going to? I'll be there for just one day, and though i'm sure kasauli is better, i have a train to catch the next day from chandigarh again and so would preferably like to stay closer to the city...

Parwanoo is an Industrial town, and for kasauli it should hardly take 2-3 hours from Chandigarh. You can get loads of local buses.

Just go to the ISBT at Chandigarh and catch a bus, there will be 1 leaving every 5 minutes.

Chandigargh to Parwanoo is pretty much a local commute so buses will be cheap and aplenty.

Kasauli will take about 2 hours or so. Maybe 2.5 depending on how fast your bus is. Once again , just get onto any bus going to Shimla etc and get off at the crossing and get onto another bus, or if u find one going directly then even better.

There is nothing much to do in Parwanoo at all. It is an industril town and not a pretty one at all. I would advise you skip it and give yourself extra time in Kasauli..

Exclamation

Hey
Thanks for taking the time out to reply! That bit of info pretty much seals the deal for me then...Kasauli it is!
Would any of you happen to know how far the Chandigarh ISBT is from the railway station though?
And is it true that there aren't many hotels in kasauli? what are the chances of me getting a hotel room in a budget hotel without making reservations at this time of the year?

Its peak season ...make reservations! plus half of chandigarh will be up every weekend as well to beat the heat..

Chandigrah railway station to ISBT would be about 20 mins or so depending on traffic conditions.

Even I have not done that...and I have to go around Shimla for 3 hours before I found 'something'...

Please mark the word 'something', no choices, bargains, preference...just something, where I can park my car and was on circular road.

That right, not a very nice time to go when the Chandigarh lot come up for daytrips. They spoil the whole Kasauli thing with their loud music and dropping litter every chance they get.

Get a bus to Shimla and get off at Dharmpur (the place with lots of Dhaba), then get a bus to Kasauli.

Accomodation is limited in Kasauli. Being under the control of the army Kasauli hasn't seen the kind of senseless construction that has ruined Shimla.

Unfortunately i have to agree with you. Its sad in a lot of ways that having a welfare government in that state supposedly directly translates into nature not being priority one bit....

Kasauli is not as bad as Shimla but i has its own problems as well.

Funny you should say that, right near the army base a few new houses were built on the hillside and were being marketed with a heft markup. No idea how they got planning permission etc as Kasauli is a canttoment station.

It is a shame that some of the hotels have been left to decay, more than likely the owners probably think if they fall down then they will be able to build large concrete buildings etc. The Alasia is a prime example, it has a great location but for the last 10 years the rooms have been crying out for new carpets, furniture and a lick of pain.
