Bus from Delhi Int Airport - Rajpura, Punjab

Hi all,
I will be arriving at Delhi Int Airport at 4.15pm, cleared by 5.15pm and would like to get a bus directly from the airport to Rajpura, Punjab. I have got this bus before, and wondered if anyone knows times and prices of busses. I am arriving in Delhi on 11th March 2005.

Also if by some remote chance there is a website address that would be much appreciated too!

Thanks Vx

have also posted this on The basics area - so sorry for duplication

As far as I know [and I could be wrong], no busses ply from IGI airport. I think you'll have to take a govt run bus from ISBT, Kashmiri Gate or a private bus from somewhere else.

Try this site for travel routes and buses. I didn't find anything for Rajpura though. A search for travel agents Delhi gets lots of results.

HI,

Yes, there is a bus service from Indira Gandhi Airport to Punjab, and here is the link that will be of help:

http://www.airportsindia.org.in/aai/..._fac_trans.htm

Here is the relevant text:

Coach Service to Punjab

Air-conditioned Luxury Coach service is available from the counter of Punjab Tourism, in the Arrival Hall at Terminal II. This coach ply between Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal - II) and Amritsar via Karnal, Ambala, Rajpura, Ludhiana, and Jullandhar.

If I was you, I would call Punjab Tourism to confirm the schedule. You can reach Punjab Tourism here:

Here is the relevant part:

Punjab Tourism Development Corporation, Chandigarh -160018

Ashoka Road, New Delhi - 110001

Good piece of info 5reviews.

I think you should call up IGI Airport for bus timings instead of Punjab Tourism office in Chandigarh. The number for Terminal II is 91-11-25696179. More numbers here.

Good Point Soulfood,

I think it would be good to call the Airport and try to get the information. I do not have any idea about the time these buses leave.

Good Luck.

Just get a Bus that goes to Patiala. From there you can easily get to Rajpura.

Patiala is actually my final destination - that is where I really need to get to. I didn't think there were any direct buses from IGI to Patiala direct.
The thing is that there are trains from Delhi to both Rajpura and Patiala, but they all depart before I arrive in Delhi. As I arrive at 4.15pm ibn Delhi, I don't think I will be clear til 5.15pm at the earliest.

All replies so far much appreciated - thanks for your help!

Delhi to Rajpura then is your best bet. You could also try flying to Chandigarh if there are any suitable flights and then taking a bus to Patiala from there.
