Puppy problem...
Hello,
The past three months I have been studying in Pune. The current 'dog problem' there quite shocked me, but after a while I guess I got more used to it. I feed some of them, but I don't do that much with them. However, yesterday morning I suddenly heard all this howling from our garden. I walked out and there was a scared, skinny puppy which had been crying for its mommy for a few hours already. Me and my friends tried to tame it and fed it, and in two days it already booked great progress: it is not so scared anymore and started playing and looooves dogfood. ![]() We think somebody might've dumped it here because they saw me feeding dogs. What this person probably didn't know is that all of us are leaving in one week. So now there is this cute puppy that is only getting more used to people and it will be all alone next week (if we try to leave it, it doesn't go away but only starts crying for hours - like at night). Does anybody know some adoption programs in Pune? Would anybody like a puppy? Perhaps a no-killing pound? I think it is too small to survive on its own. I would be very thankful for any suggestions. I tried Paws Pack but they will put it back where it came from if it doesn't get adopted in a week (which could be likely, I mean, there's so many of these dogs...). I don't want to just let it die, I also wouldn't mind making a donation to the pound or anything. Thanks in advance! |

You don't have PM facilities yet, but as soon as you're reaching 10 posts try to get in contact with IM member birds, she's a great animal lover and maybe knows some people in this scene. Oh wait, maybe I can send her a PM with a link to this thread. Will do this immediately.
Best of luck for the puppy! 2 min later: Done! Last edited by federica : Oct 25th, 2009 at 18:28. Reason: added 2 min later |

Can you let me know how old the pup is, whether male or female? If you can, send me a photo. Once I got this information I can see what I can do.
One more thing, has this puppy been actually bitten by other strays? Also do you have an email where we can contact you? P.S. Thanks Frederica for the PM :-)
