I ve received a invitation to work in Pune, and its beeing dificult to find information about the city. There are few pictures in the internet and lots of differente information... So maybe you can help me...

I will work in Hinjewadi, and I dont know nice places to live nearby... How is the public tranportation in Pune?

I am arriving with my wife, and it would be helpful to have stores, shops, soprts facilitys and restaurants, near home.

Thanks,
Saulo

I'll suggest initially you take a serviced apartment with kitchen. And then figure out yourself where you want to live. You can send email to Oakwood Residence Naylor road for long term quote. This place is far from Hinjewadi but good. Or google "Pune hinjewadi Serviced apartments" Stay there for a month and then figure it out by yourself.

I've stayed at the Oakwood Residence on Naylor Road. It is a very good place near Koreagon Park (which is the upscale area in Pune with lots of shopping, pubs and restaurants). The place has more satellite TV channels than I've ever seen anywhere, and large clean rooms. It's about 30 to 40 minutes from Hinjewadi and only 10 minutes walk to a couple of malls in Koreagon Park. Kalyani Nagar is somewhat closer to Hinjewadi as is the University area and both are nice areas as well. Wakad is quite close and you could do a search on Hinjewadi properties and Wakad properties to get a lot of information on prices and features in those areas.

A reference that may be of some help to you:

Thanks for starting this thread, Cunning Little Vixen. We'll be taking our first trip to India at the beginning of next year and look forward to observing a bit of nature among the sites that we visit. Hopefully this thread will thrive and I'll gain some knowledge prior to our visit.

If anyone is planning to come to Pune & work at Hinjewadi, he MUST stay close to Hinjewadi. I stay 40 Kms away & commute daily by car to Hinjewadi. Morning it takes me 1.5 hour's & evening 2 hour's . The traffic scene is a nightmare & staying closeby will save lots of time & avoid unnecessary aggravation. The best choice is Aundh. Well developed area & reasonably closeby.
Regards
Cavalier.

Hi,
Pune - It is one of the biggest IT hubs in India. At Hinjewadi, this is a biggest IT area of Pune, It's very upscale area.Near to Hinjewadi area like Wakad, Pimple Saudagar is a good area to live. Also Aundh area is also good for living.

Public transportation is not very good at Hinjewadi area, but from Aundh,Wakad,Pimple Saudagar area have the good public transportation.

Feedback

Thanks All.

I've lived in Koregaon Park and I would recommend it and Kalyani Nagar for foreign people. They are lovely places to live, although far from Hinjewadi (45 min at morning and 1:30 hours at evening by car every day in peak hour. When raining, 2:00 h). Aundt is also another nice place, but the other two are far better.

Public Transportation is quite complicated in Pune so I would recommend a hired car with driver.
