nature loving places to live, but should be nearer to Hinjewadi and basic amenities
Hi All,
I read the article of new_traveler about relocation options in Pune. Its really informative. But still I have few queries.
I am moving to Pune in 3rd week of April. New company would provide a few weeks of accommodation. It is in Hinjewadi. I wanted to search for a house which is nearer to Hinjewadi, but should be having lot of greenery around. I have see 99acres, magicbricks and quikr. It seems Wakad is nearest place to live. But seems it has only multistory apartments. I felt like it is just concrete jungle. My preference would be having lot of greenery around and also basic amenities. It would be good if it is nearby area.
Also, what I observed is none(or most) of the unfurnished flats I have seen on these websites have basic facilities like almirahs/cupboards/wardrobes even in kitchen. Is this is the case in most of the apartments/flats in Pune? I do not want to purchase these for a rented house. Of course, if I don't get a house with them, then I have to.
Please suggest me,
Regards,

My comments in bold.About wanting a green and quite place- I know this can be touch but their are some societies where they have a nice garden and some amount of greenery. You will have to look around for the right place. I do not have any reference for wakad.
Bike rides - Kashmir to Leh and Sikkim, Jungle safaris - Corbett,Chikhaldara, Kanha and Gorumara. Traveled through MP, Himachal, J&K, Maharashtra, W.Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Goa, Karnataka, AP . . . Yet feel so New to traveling in India.

Thanks a lot for your response. Yeah... once I reach there I would look around as you suggested. anybody have any other suggestions?
How about public transport? I have seen the website http://www.pmpml.org/
As per this website frequency of buses and routes are very limited. I doubt that they might have just not updated or am I looking at some irrelevant/obsolete website.
Otherwise do they have service/shared auto system ? I will have my own vehicle, but do not like to use it when I am alone and not with family.
the transport system is v bad, you get share autos but again depends where you will end up staying..the university area and defense area surroundings are green, your best bet to search for accommodation.
Its the Journey that matters, not the Destination

Agree on the Transport system is V BAD.Driving own vehicle is going to test your patience and emotional balance. It can really get on nerves in the hinjewadi route. You are well travelled in India for job at different IT hubs so I assume you might be accostumed to this. Hinjewadi is one of the worst

The university and defence area of kirkee is good BUT that will mean another 10 odd kms from wakad and another 30 mins of daily drive. You must surely consider this.
Thanks a lot hermetic, new_traveller for your patience to give your inputs. It's really sad to know that public transportation part.
How about Pimpri Chinchwad? Is this another city adjacent to Pune, as I understand. Won't it be good to put up there? Rentals are pretty much less there it seems. Actually my budget is something around 7-10K as rent and 1 BHK/2 BHK is fine with me.
I don't see 1 BHKs much in wakad area and only 2 BHKs are available there at 12K minimum which is more than my budget.
At Primpri Chinchwad also the same. Only 2BHKs are available. But at my budget. But I know nothing about this place, considering traffic, greenery, public transport, basic amenities, security. All this stuff is really taking a toll on my brain as I wont be having own vehicle for couple of months.
From 1st day in Pune till I buy it, I will not have own vehicle and public transportation is bad, no friends. How can I search house.
Previously in Hyd, B'lore - public transportation was good.
Delhi NCR - I could buy my bike(Honda Activa)on 2nd day of my stay.
Now in Pune, I cann't buy Activa/ Access without waiting period of at least couple of months.
So mostly I will have to rely on your inputs. But hopefully I will get some friends in office and also some internal classifieds.
Still I am excited to explore western side of my country. North and south are over now west and later??? Hopefully East

Pimpri Chinchwad started off as residences of the manufaturing industry ages ago. Pimpriu chinchwad has some biggie sin manufacturing. This has grown over the years to have some amazing roads and amazing residential places like the Pradhikaran. BUT you might expect a differnt crowd than in pune. So I would suggest not to opt for hardcore pipmri-chinchwad area. However In your budget I would suggest try the Pimple Nilakh/Gurav/Saudagar zone which falls under the PCMC boundaries and yet has a large IT population.
About commute - I would suggest start with the company provided bus or cabs. You can migrate to 6 seaters shared or car poolings or your own bike later on.
Trust me you do not want to ride on that route.

IMHO Hinjewadi does not have anything interesting to stay at the moment. New2pune is looking for an apartment, you might be able to help him with some good deals in baner.
Else expect him to drop at your place one fine day, he already knows your postal address

He he he he... yes, I know complete address. I may appear in front of him out of nowhere.
On serious note, yes as new_traveller said I am looking out for apartment and that to setup complete house (even I have plans to buy a house in Pune, which can be within an year or two). It wont be just few months of affair with Pune (hopefully).
Guys!!!
I came to Pune around 15 days before... got a house with just a bit above my budget i.e. 11000 (2 BHK) with all modern amenities in Wakad. I never imagined all of these amenities on 11K... that too 2 BHK and nearer to my office (5 Kms). But not really so much greenery around.
I liked climate here, didn't feel like summer after experiencing 4 summers in Gurgaon. Public in general are good and helping. My first impression with Pune is great :-) except public transport...
