Hi, mates! Before I go to Chennai, I will go to Mumbai first. It is said that it only take 2.5 hours from Pune to Mumbai by fast bus.
So how to catch a fast bus in Pune as my destination is Mumbai?
Thank you again!

MSRTC Volvo bus operates buses to Dadar from Pune Station and Shiva Nagar Bus Stand. It will take around 3 hours to reach Dadar from Pune.

Thank you, my friend Aarosh! My location is very close to chinchwad Railway Station. Will the MSRTC Volvo Bus stop at Pune-Mumbai old road for passengers' boarding?

The MSRTC Volvo usually takes the Express Highway. I do not know if it will stop at the place which you mentioned.

You can also check this. There are a few semi luxury MSRTC buses which start from Pimpri Chinchwad to Dadar.

Now I find a stop called Aundle Stop from one of my friends. However, thank you for your information!

I think it might be aundh- The volvo stops at aundh, parihar chowk and also below the wakad flyover.

Being in Pinpri chichwad- Aundh or Wakad would be nearer and also lesser travel time to catch the bus.
Else catch a bus to pune station which should be a plenty and hop on to the pune -dadar shivneri volvo.

Note that the volvo buses are always full and booked from friday to mondays. Try to have a booking done in advance if you plan to travel during these days.

Some of the Pune-Dadar Shivneri buses take the Chinchwad route too. The buses stop at the Chinchwad ST stop on the Pune-Mumbai road. But finding a seat would be tough especially on the weekends. Always better to go upto Pune Railway Station and catch a bus or get an advance booking done for a bus that goes through either Chinchwad or Aundh.

You can call a travel agent in Pune and they can arrange for a bus ride to Mumbai (technically to the airport, but with drop off in Dadar), with a shuttle van that'll pick you up at your destination in Pune that brings you to the bus stop. So, it is a 2-in-1 ticket (save on rickshaw fare) and is more hassle-free (especially if rickshaws aren't normally at your doorstep). There is a bit of lag-time, however, at the transit point.

The train, by the way, is a much more lovely journey. Beautiful green hills. Fresh air. Far away from the winding roads. And, the trains take you to the heart of Mumbai, which the buses don't do. And, they bypass all of Mumbai traffic, which can be pretty bad a times.
India is the great Yin-Yang. Amazing lightness, equally amazing darkness. Wrapped up to make one complete whole.

Revised Version: 1/2010 :

Like the Mumbai CST-Pune SF InterCity - on the green route i presume, but do you know if that is the only daily intercity, seems like it is!
