Gujurati & Maharashtran food in Pune

Good Gujarati thali (Rajasthani, too, but didn't try it) at Sarahe Dining Hall, 5 Sadhu Vaswani Rd., opposite the GPO. 020-2612-6138

Next to the Kelkar Museum entrance is Bapat Upahar Gruha, 020-6602-7314. Delicious Maharashtran food. There's no English sign or menu--lunch meal was good.

Nonveg marathi- try at purpur kolhapur near mehendale garage, erandwane(some 3km from deccan).

Vegetarian - i would rate shreyas at apte rd the best, followed by krishna dining ha;ll(law college rd), rasoi(narayan peth).

Gujarati- mayur(east street) is good, rajdhani more authentic, Ritz(camp) more simple.Haven;t been to sahare yet.

Try out Sukanta in Deccan

Try out Sukanta in Deccan. It's near to Z Bridge. It's blend of Rajasthani and Gujarati food. You can also try Chokhi Dani. Then there is Panchwati on Bhandarkar Road. For Maharastrian, there is Shabri on FC road near Manmeet and Chaitanya.

Atithi on J.M. Road (I think somewhere near Shivsagar) also serves great authentic Maharashtrian meals, including phoolkas at a very reasonable price. Basic ambience and quite clean.
Good selection of ice-cream at Naturals in the same area.

Now that Lucky is torn down, there are not too many Irani cafes left. Café Good Luck is also a great place for chicken curry, egg curry, bun maska and tea.
Roopali on F.C. Road is a great place to just hang out in the evenings munching on south Indian food and coffee, watching the PYTs go by. Friendly waiters too.
I'm not sure whether Amrapali nearby is still running, although I don't see any reason for it to close.....given the immense popularity of all the three restaurants run by the same man on F.C. Road - Vaishali, Amrapali and Roopali.
