Guide to cultural events in Pune

Hi all

The other night, by pure coincidence, I wound up at a beautiful little classical concert put on by the Pune Musical Society (I think that was their name). I enjoyed that experience a great deal and I want to attend more cultural events and performances happening in Pune. So what is the best way to learn about events of this kind? Is there some equivalent of the TimeOut series here in Pune? Or there a website dedicated to this kind of information?

Thanks for your tips.

Buy TIMES OF INDIA NEWSPAPER and along with it comes PUNE MIRROR you can search in EXHIBITIONS / EVENTS / WORKSHOPS section for your area of interest.

The German cultural institute organizes regular events, end of March for instance a European Film Festival, and some evening event.

the French Alliance Française, even though mainly a language school, also offers cultural events, not up to date online unfortunately

The British Library has also an event section, but no dates mentioned

The German center is most likely the best, because they are by nature into quality.

If you are also interested in Indian Classical by any chance, Pune is very active on that front. There are frequent concerts at places. The Sawai Gandharva hall is the most active and hosts a huge annual festival for Indian classical music, with back to back concerts by artistes of International repute.
