Darkroom/Photo Supplies in Pune

I'm a photographer moving to Pune with my husband in 2 weeks and was wondering if anyone knew of a studio/darkroom I can rent space in. Also wanted to know if there is a photo supply/darkroom supply in Pune or if I'll need to go to Mumbai to outfit my darkroom and get camera gear. thanks so much!

I'm not sure about Pune, but in Mumbai as in Delhi, equipment for old fashioned film processing is steadily disapperaing from the traditional wholesale markets and being replaced with digital stuff . . . paper is especially hard to come by and Ilford seems to have got a monopoly where earlier there were at least 5 brands operating! Basic stuff like chemicals and trays should be no problem, though in Pune I have no idea where, a few inquires at the nearest manual photo studio should get you in the know!

Hiii,m a resident of pune and though i dont know exactly where u can get ur work done but i can tell you once u arrive and enquire especialy in MG road and camp area you will surely get what you want as there are few old styled photo studios operating in various parts of the city and we also have some world renowed photographers here, you just need to search!

thanks for the advice! Was debating whether to bring paper, etc. with me from NYC, but I think I'll be able to figure out things when I get there. Is anyone familiar with an artists league or something similar there? Thanks again!

V.B. and Co is a venerable camera establishment in Pune. They've been around since at least my grandfather's time. They should be able to help.
