Cottage stay in Lonavla
Cottage stay in Lonavla
Hi,
Do any of you know of a good cottage stay (for a family of ~10 people) in Lonavla/Khandala for 2 days...needs to be neat and clean in a good location...good food will be an added advantage...i browsed as much as i could, but couldn't find anything outside of the MTDC resort at Karla. Would appreciate views on the same also.
Thanks !

I am not too sure about your budget and what all do you expect from a resort. I was planning for Citrus it has some decent reviews. (Use google to check its reviews) + it seems like a new hotel so the rooms, beds, sheets etc are new.I will again ask you and your husband check with your office tieups with hotels or chain of hotels. They usually have some good deals for corporates.
I had also checked with Mahindra properties and their associates who claim to have a tieup with my company.
The cost was huge
though it looked cheaper than whats on cleartrip or yatra. For manas too- Use google for reviews by people who have stayed there. It really helps to know how the experience of others was with a new place before we land up for our much awaited vacations.
hi new_traveller, thank you for the inputs...i had checked the reviews on citrus too, and it was my first choice if i was going in for a hotel...we're hoping that since we're about 3-4 families (extended same family) we were hoping to you know book a full cottage, like a single unit with atleast 2 bedrooms and a lawn/sitout etc, where we can just hang around in the evenings and have a good time...i did get good reviews on manas on google...so wanted to check if anyone else on indiamike had anything to suggest...i'm not in India now, else i would have loved to check these places out in person before the entire family reaches Pune
...and the budget, yea...we are not definitely looking for star hotel or pricey places - simple, clean and neat will be beautiful...we are thinking max of about Rs.3000 per day/night...
The company tie up was a good idea! will definitely check that one !
Thanks a lot !

You would have gone to Lonavla to chek the hotel
Thats Crazy
Anyway - Independent bunglows with 2-3 bedrooms and a caretaker can have their own risks to spoil the vacation.
Read some reviews of such bunglows and I decided nto to opt for this. Let us wait to hear from others if they have any feedback on Manas.
lol..we do travel a lot between bombay and pune...so could have stopped to check...
...but yea, i know what you mean when you say some of these places can spoil a vacation, exactly why im trying to take so much effort, we're also skeptical about the outcome...if it was just my husband and me, we dont care...we'd bunk anywhere...but can't do that with this particular diverse group coming down ;-)...oh well, lets see if i can get more info...but this Manas places seems to get booked quite fast...i dont know if im even going to get it when i want it if i keep delaying the booking :|...wish me luck ! will update you on what happened

Doesn't Lavasa rent out cottages? And I've heard that these days Amby Valley rents out cottages, although I have no verifiable source for confirmation.
If at first you don't succeed, try management
