Business hotels-Pune
Can anyone recommend a hotel in Pune for business travellers --preferably with a swimming pool-- that is centrally located? A colleague who has just returned from there says that the Deccan Rendez-vous (our firm's usual pick) is too far from restaurants, shopping, etc.
I'm a dull, married, middle-aged lady and nightlife is not important to me but sketching, shopping (fabric particularly; I sew and make quilts) and local (ie Indian no I do not wish to eat at Pizza Hut thankyouverymuch) restaurants are. I'll be there three weeks; this is my first and possibly only chance to visit India and I want to see as much as I can on my free time. |

I woudl suggest Hotel Sun N Sand & Le Meridien (05*) Sagar Plaza. The Pride (04*) and Oakwood (03*)..
They all have their websites so you could book directly or through a website based tour company which may offer you a good deal. Whilst in Pune you could do lots of sighsteeing trips in and around visit the below link for more details on this upcoming city http://www.virtualpune.com/html/loca...ns/index.shtml |

Blue Diamond is the property of Taj Group of hotels. You may contact them at their toll free number 1800-111-825 and see if you could get a good rate for long stay...BTw pune being an upcoming Hi-tech city hotels are most of the times sold out so keep your options open.

business hotels in Pune
My firm (Amdocs, Inc) uses the Deccan Rendesvous and the Gordon for all staff travel to Pune. The Deccan is larger and has more amenities but the Gordon is more centrally located.
I stayed at the Gordon. It was very clean, the staff was wonderful to me (I contracted shigellosis during my trip and it was a horrible experience. The hotel took very good care of me). Before travelling to Pune I had heard it was noisy, but I did not find this to be the case. There is a panoramic view of the city from the rooftop pool/terrace. Several colleagues who stayed at the Rendesvous liked it but said it was too far from restaurants, etc. |
