No, sorry, but you can't.

Check out the heaps of stuff on this in the Goa property threads; there may be some political flavours that are goa-specific, but the property law, with greater restrictions in some states) is National.

Question The road to Uttaranchal

Hi

I love this thread and the underlying optimism and enthusiasm. It has been our (my wife and I) dream to live in the mountains. We have travelled widely through Uttaranchal too - trek to harkidun, went from Chopta to Ranikhet to Jageshwar to Mukteshwa etc...and yet the question of just getting to Kathgodam via Hapur, Muradabad, Muzzafarnagar is scary.

Has anyone used the Paonta Sahib road to lead into the Doon area and then proceeded forward? Also, is there a cap on the amount of land one can buy in Uttaranchal?

Thanx

Hi, I never tried the Paonta sahib road since it will be too long from Del, but we take a left towards kashipur after the Moradabad bypass and then a right towards Haldwani. Beautiful and scenic route with no hold ups even though it is slightly longer. The Moradabad - Rampur and onwards stretch is actually scary and very avoidable.

The ceiling (for a non Uttaranchali Indian citizen) is 500Sq Mtr (598 Sq Yd) per person and his HUF(so even wife cant buy if you have bought your total amt.)

psf is per square foot of consturction

so a 1000 sq ft construction, according to lavneetgyani, would cost 1500*1000 =15 lacs upwards.

Prerna:

I think "psf" = Per square Foot.

Cheers

see the post #163 on this link and click on the attachments, you could manage a small 800 sq foot cottage with 300 odd yards of land around the kumaon region with that budget...

What can I buy in the hills for 5 lakhs?

Rajuindia, I think you'll find that most of the poeple talking in this thread are Indian citizens and do have the qualification to buy land in the areas they are talking about.

If you visit the Goa threads, you may find something different.

Hello everyone. I came across this forum while searching for a place in uttaranchal. and what a find it is ? So many like minded people that I am simply amazed.
I want to buy a place in uttaranchal too and I am interested in places where Jyoti and Nagraj have bought a plot. Is land still available around the place where you bought ? Please let me know.

Santosh
