Stamp Duty and Registration - Goa

Hi,

Does anyone know the formalities to pay stamp duty and register a property in Goa? Have paid 1% stamp duty initially on purchase. I believe I need to pay the remaining 1% stamp duty and 2% registration. I am arriving in Goa in Sep. to complete these formalities but will only be in Goa for 2 nights.

Can all this be completed in one day and where do I pay the stamp duty and registration fees?

Whereabouts in Goa are you buying? We registered in Mapusa but our builder took care of most of the admin for us. I think it may be possible for it to be done in a day. I am assuming that you are Indian, NRI or PIO, otherwise you may find registration difficult to impossible.

Thanks for the reply. We're British but of Indian origin and have OCI status. We bought in Nuvem, which is near Margao, South Goa. Arriving in Goa on the 9th Sep and leaving on the 11th so hoping to get all the formalities sorted out then, ie. possession, stamp duty and registration. Wondering if paying the stamp duty and registration fees by cash will speed up things.
