Link Documents of an apartment?
Link Documents of an apartment?
Hi
Recently I purchased a new apartment in a building of 5 floors, each floor having 3 apartments. Before constructing this building, there was a small house at this place and that house has all the linked documents registered for the past 15 years. Now that the new apartments have come up, each apartment owner has the registration paper of his apartment. My question is: Who will own all the link documents of the old house? Can each apartment member take a photocopy of it? I have the photocopy and not the original documents.
Also, please let me know what all other things I need to do after the registration? Like transferring the electricity meter on my name, property tax should have my name on it, etc.
Thank you so much in advance.

The flat owners' society can keep the original documents. You must keep the photocopies.
If the builder still has some portions in his custody, then he may keep them.
You must change the name of electricity bill, mutate the municipal documents.

Hi All,
I have purchase a flat and the land owner is also one of the members of the apartment flats. Builder handed over the documents to the general body. Currently the link documents of the actual land owner is carrying the documents and he is claiming that he has to carry the documents and he is refused to handover the documents to the general body and saying that he is also residing in the apartment.
Is this the correct approach? If not, please help me how to proceed legally?
Thanks,
Raja
