land and property regulations?

Howdy

For those who do know me here on this site, myself and my boyfriend announced to my family over Christmas that we are getting married, Yahoo! Everyone is happy!!

We are having two weddings apaprantly. One in India and one here in Ireland.

anyway, as for my post here, just wondering if anyone knows anything about the rules and regulations in india for land and residentual property?
Myself and my fiance have found land we would like to purchase put it happens to have a house in it. We may want to either extend the house and make it bigger for ourselves or cruble it down and build a new one from scratch. Also we heard the house is suppose to be 100mts away from the waters edge. We are looking at buying near waterfront areas.

does anyone know anything please? I have tried to find info on the net but hasn't been easy.

Many thanks in advance,
Happy,
