Indian Owned property in Goa

Hi found a thread on foreign owned proerty in Goa but none on Indian owned property in Goa. I am about to buy a property in Goa, while I am not living in Goa at present and for the next 5 years or so do not expect to be living there on a permanent basis but would be visiting of and on with a plan to eventually settle down there. I was wondering if there are any others on this forum in a similar situation and if they would be interesting in discussion on the relevant issues

regards

Indic

Indic, welcome to indiamike.

Maybe this thread will rival the foreign property threads here, though I hope not in excitement

This seems to be good Idea...by the what are the rates of plots in various parts..

Like in Delhi we measure it by "Gaj" i.e I guess a Sq. Yard..

Indic, I believe there are no restriction for non Goan Indians from buying property in Goa. But the usual risks exist.

Beach shacks are seasonal businesses which are allowed to operate from October to May. One has to apply for the licence every year after paying a hefty fee and 50% of the licences are reserved for those shack owners who have been in the business for a long time. The cost of setting up the shack and dismantling the structure at the end of the season has to be borne by the operator of the business.
