Delhi will win. At any of the railway station you end up in one and your luggage in another autorickshaw. If the crowd is bigger even the cloths may be pulled on to different rickshaws.

Has anybody an explanation why Bangalorean drivers would not even bother to transport you if you are not inclined to go souvenir-shopping ?

I did not get the idea that many of them made good business by rejecting tourists that would not want to go souvenir-shopping. I mean they still could transport you, make some small money and then try to cheat the next gullible tourist.

Jaipur was on the original list. Definitely the most expensive, but usually not so rude. Gentlemen bandits. Agra: expensive and rude. Delhi, well nigh impossible. Street-pirates. Bangalore, opportunistic (but isn't everyone). Chennai, actually not so bad for a metro. For my money, the best all around are in Hyderabad.
