Delhi for bad driving, over charging and refusing to take a passenger unless threatened to be reported to the police!

Worst for getting proper prices as a "white" person:
My lovely home here in Surat. They want me to pay twice the amount it costs to get from the train station home. Jaipur was a close second. Getting a reasonable price was like pulling hens teeth.

Go to Hyderabad. I've been quoted 5 times the going rate there.

Chennai wins, no doubt about it! You haggle like mad and you're still paying double compared to other cities. Mumbai's fine, although few will put the meter on (reluctantly). Vizag requires tough talk on the agreed price, as has been noted already. Aurangabad and Bhopal present few probs, as many drivers will use the meter and simply take you where you want to go. As for Delhi, I found supply greater than demand in the city usually encouraged drivers to go by the meter... but you have to make it clear that it's meter or no fare. Saying little seemed to help here, just get in and tap the meter if it's not already turned on.
