Before shifting to bangalore i was living in delhi for around 2yrs & trust me bangalore has got worst autorickshaw drivers.

I thought Chennai walks away with the prize and some drivers in interior Kerala used to be gems till they got spoiled by western tourists

my order of worst auto wallah drivers is as follows:

1. Chennai.......they drive and behave as if they all are Rajnikant of Auto wallah movie (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. ..........will never forgive Rajni kant for playing that role)............not only they drive bad but are worst at fleecing.

2. Delhi.........purely for their aggressive and cheating tactics.....

3. Bangalore.........not very aggresive .....neither do they try to cheat as much as the auto wallahs of Chennai or Delhi but score very high on bad driving index and their Nakhras ( tantrums ) ( like "i wont go there" or " i wont go here) are too much...........try finding any auto wallah after 10 pm who agrees in first go to take u where u want to go.

4. Pune auto drivers operating in outskirts of the city. they grossly over charge you if u need to come from subarbs like (chinchwad, Pimpri, Hinjewadi) to main city.........

Chennai's auto drivers are the Worst.

They never put the meter on, even if they have one. They have a fixed price which is usually 3 times the meter rate, if it were working in good condition.

Their attitude is also really bad. They are thugs and are close to the police.

Chennai auto wallahs win. I'm from Chennai and not very comfortable taking autos. They cheat

, drive badly and behave badly

Bangalore just won't come to a place where you want to go. Fleeceing is minimal (atleast they haven't asked over and above their tampered meters

Well if Goa is anything to go by don't hold your breath Bij. The new law was passed and introduced on the first of February. To date there isn't any visible change, perhaps the local coppers have a new way of making a few bob but thats it!!

When the the new law was in the planning stages there was a broad discussion over the rights and wrongs!!

The taxi unions of Goa official respoonse was and I quote "why are taxi drivers being stopped from fleecing the tourist, whilst Hotels and Restaurants are still allowed to??"

Not too much fair thinking there I feel

ya well . . . point well taken, actually. I got used to paying a few chips over meter in BLR, much to the disgust of my desi colleagues. I just couldn't be bothered with it, ya know? I still get momentarily mad when some banchod asks 5X the going rate, tho (delhi is the worst offender) However, it's just all part of the game for me at this point, and i don't let it bother me. I just go to the next rik, they go to the next sucker
