What Is Your Fave' Comfort Food In India
When you've had enough of it all, which comfort food do you seek out whilst in India?
Not what you normally eat......

Bad-tummy comfort food: rise, yoghurt and sugar with a banana.
Culture-shock comfort food: Chickken Tikka Subway (yes, my stomach thinks it's Western!) |

Why don't these polls provide a "Others" or "None of the above" option???
My favourite comfort food is "Sev Batata Puri and Bhel Puri', where does that fit in with the choices given above ??

there is this place in Gokarna on Ohm Beach...
They make a spinach hamburger with fries. UnFuckingBelivable... Is all I have to say. I tried going to Mc D but it felt like a hospital compared to the Outsideworld in delhi....

OK... I hit the "pasta things" button - not because I actually order it here ( it looks awful
)... but because it's what I think about cooking when I get home.. some nice olive oil, fresh basil, sweet tasting plum tomatoes and some freshly ground pepper.. that's it ! ( Tagliatelle is my favourite - though not the 'egg' type ). If I had to add anything to the sauce... hmmm, maybe some artichoke hearts, asparagus tips, or some baby clams.. Oh man, I'm salivating like crazy ! OK, whilst here, "none of the above" but maybe thali if I had to pick. No dosas makes the job difficult ! ![]() |

"THALI OR CURRY" Option is so so so wrong ... I hope next time some1 consults before opening a poll ....
Anyways thali is like a complete meal .. u get 3 to 4 rotis/chappatis .. 3 to 5 bowls; 2 bowls of vegetables; 1 of sweet dish (desert); i of curd and 1 or more of curry. Curry is just a taste liquid used over rice, eathen with chapati or just consumed ..... More things in thali include papad, pickle, salt, rice |

The guys here in the local veg diner are amazed that with every masala dosa I order I go for about 4 or 5 refils of rasam... " you must like the stuff" was one perceptive comment.. |

butterball, That is sambar!!
![]() Rasam goes with rice, Sambar goes with..well everything. Sambar is thick with a lot of vegitables in it. Rasam is more like a thinner soup |
