How safe is it to drive a vehicle on Indian roads without blowing the horn ?
Quote:
Actually trains are mandated to horn in crossings so they warn people who cross the tracks! There are many deaths because of people or animals crossing the tracks!
Apart from trains cars honk for many reasons could be frustration in the heat, frustration at home, getting late for work, scared of office dead lines! Indians vent out everything on the road! An honk is a prayer too!
As a cyclist i often appreciate the use of a horn but there are types of horns which i am afraid will one cause me to die in an accident. The strong horns are simply killing and should be banned. Bus drivers should be trained in the appropriate use of a horn so as not to drive their passengers to distraction.
Also i believe the strength of the horn should be equivalent to the might of the vehicle but not so strong as the worst horns in India which are overkill. It is so annoying when a tiny little vehicle sounds like a truck and likewise when a truck sounds like a tiny little vehicle. As a cyclist I am very sensitive to these things when on Indian roads.

Well that question sounds really funny to me because i have been to india couple of times and believe you cant bring your car on the road if it is not having horn in it. In india the importance of horn in the car is just the same as an engine is important in the car.
