Some explanation of my "other" status:
I live without a car, walk everywhere local, cook my own vegetarian food as much as possible and beg-cast off clothes and other stuff from friends. By this method I am working less than ten hours a week (by choice - being self-employed enables me to get more should I want) and saving a little for the next trip. My only luxuries are a bi-monthly purchase of ch*ra* and my cable Internet connection... (Don't want to sound sanctimonious with this, just to show that "work butt off" and "have enough time for oneself" needn't be the two compliments of each other.) I guess I should explain checking nr.2 by saying that since there are quote marks around "mansion and yacht" that I figured a paid-for shack/cabin and a kayak would probably qualify. As far as wealth, hey, I take a 3-4 month winter vacation every year, I work the equivalent of a couple of months a year, have a prety nice garden and make my own wine. By governement income standards, I'm living in poverty. you figure

Invite support for a lobby to make travel a 'fundamental human right'
membership to the lobby entails a donation of $200 to 'latisharma travel assistance society' |

Account No.
As my company is a Pvt. Ltd. I should take "Latisharma Travel Assistance Society" under my umbrella. Account Nos. on request! Taxes will be paid!
Very nice idea...tomorrow I will start to Tirupati offering some sweets and promising a 20 % cut while executing my fundamental human right! Gerlinde |

Latishrma Travel Trust
Hi Gerlinde,
Seems like a good idea. We can rename it "Latisharma Travel Trust" . You can keep it under your umbrella, and if you permit, I'll be the treasure..........Love to count money and use some too!! |

TRUST
Hi Ashok,
you found the right word! Trust is much better than Society! How often did I hear "Trust me!" About "Society" not many are talking.... Good to get to know more fellow citizens with a sense of humor! Gerlinde |

Speaking of Tiriputi there is a travel co called Tiriputi Travels in Jaipur .
They are off the beaten tracks in Cival Lines . I found them to be NOT a bunch of husslers and quiet helpful in a quiet sort of way . Try them . |

We don't own a car (public transit), nor a computer (use one at work), nor buy books (use public libraries, inc. Reference library) nor spend tons on clothes. There are ways to save enought to travel, which we use to not only explore the world but to counteract enormous job stress. Peace Always, GreggTor

well you are right the plane fares really wreck your budget and force you to plan longer iteneries.... which get you in a fix if you have a regular job !!!!
here's a case for telecommuting !! |

Sort of a 1...
When I was younger I always managed to luck into decent jobs which allowed me to earn enough to travel. I had to save, but never that 'brutally' - limited luxuries etc, as to me the whole point of working was to travel. Now I am little by little trying to incorporate India travel into my work (I have already traveled like mad though the USA and Europe for business).
Now I'd like to know... Has anyone ever hit the road, and said 'scr#w it', and decided to just keep traveling, or settle for a while in India (or elsewhere?) I'd love to hear such stories of freedom...
