From the below list, I, obviously, am not a beach expert but lived in costal cities of Chennai and Dubai for most of my life. I love the coasts and the beaches.
Beaches visited on the east coast: Puri Chennai Mamallapuram Puducherry Velankanni Rameshwaram Danushkodi Thiruchendur Kanyakumari Beaches visited on the west coast: Vattakottai Thengapattanam Inayam Colachel Muttom (this one & the above four is in Tamil Nadu, Kanyakumari district) Poovar Kovalam Varkala Cochin Guruvayur Mumbai Veraval The beaches in Kanyakumari district, IMO, are the best in India. Good thing is that not yet "touristy." Of course, I haven't, yet, been to Karnataka/Goa/Maharashtra coasts. I love the west coast of India (though I was born and spent 90% of life is an east coast metro-Chennai). Rocky beaches, estuaries, backwaters, beach shacks, amazing culture.... |
