Talking Better city Bangalore or Chennai

Early 80s Bangalore was more a Pensioners paradise and a sleepy city, Chennai was far ahead of Bangalore in growth and per capita Income, Probably Chennai was 10-15years ahead of Bangalore. Deep south, Chennai was the most preferred destination.

Now the present senario is different, Most Indians prefer to work and live and own properties in Bangalore compare to chennai, Fellow north Indians working at chennai, prefer and spend their weekends at Bangalore.

BANGALORE HAS BECOME A WORLD CITY, Kannadigas welcome every indian with a broad smile and open arms. I am of the opinion that Bangalore has moved forward by atleast 15-20years ahead of chennai, Bangalore is a true Metro, Attitude of Kannadigas has Changed Bangalore as the most preferred destination in India,
DO YOU GUYS AGREE.

I'm neither from Chennai nor from Bengaluru. But I visited both cities number of times. I am not sure Bengaluru can be called a WORLD CITY, but surely it is a better place to live in. Yes, I agree to your comments on Kannadigas. But I have seen the other face of the city. Remember, what happened in the city when famous Kanada Actor RajKumar died? Unfortunately, I was there at that terrible time. Adorable city, but at times it is not so adorable!

Sir, but you should also remeber the times of Kidnap of our belowed idol Dr.Rajkumar. The patience of the kannadigas was put to test then. We came up with flying colours. You should also remeber what happened when the matinee Idol MGR died.

This week, an incident was an eye-opener for me. Used to preach to my Bangalore mates on how Rationalist/Self-respect movement originated in TN under the leadership of EVR. But found Ayutha puja being grandly celebrated in our Chennai office premises with even an colleague chanting some sanskrit slokas. It was a slap on my face because it happens even after there is a state enacted law which prevents such celebrations in government offices. (Ours is a private office though).

Now Bangalore also is not staying behind ,
look at how some gurukals performing puja during the launch of new airplane.

I am afraid this topic is going to take a predictable course. Many of the Tamil supporters are going to praise the virtues of Chennai. Many of the Tamil haters are going to do anything but.

I don't see a big difference between the two cities except that Bangalore trumps Chennai in weather. Personally it makes very little difference to me. I sweat in both cities. Both are dirty, noisy, decaying cities, though Chennai seems to be more advanced in its decay. My personal observation (based on visits in the last month) is that Bangaloreans like to think that they are hip which is of the "in your face" variety. I think Mumbaikars are far more cool.

An American friend of mine told me (after his visit to Bangalore) that Bangaloreans are as fake as Los Angelinos.
